We ordered our cream seperator today as a first step towards on farm butter production from our nigerian dwarfs goats milk. Hunter tested the process by filling a mason jar about three fourths with milk... And walking around for 2 days shaking it vigerously. It actually worked to make a nice mound of fresh butter, white as a cloud. The taste and texture was perfect.
So to make this on a regular basis we ordered a centrifugal cream seperator. This will pull cream from the milk, leaving skim milk. Then we can use a churn to turn the cream into butter and buttermilk.
Stay tuned to se how it goes!
